The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor – Educator in Exercise Science. This 9-month, non-tenure-track position is responsible for: (a) teaching a diverse set of undergraduate and graduate courses including online courses; (b) assisting with programmatic growth and development; and (c) engaging in university, professional, and community service.
With the launch of Next Lives Here, the Cincinnati Innovation District, ten straight years of record enrollment, worldwide leadership in cooperative education, entry into the Big 12 athletic conference, and being recognized as a top public research university, UC’s momentum has never been stronger. Based on the Carnegie Foundation Classification System, The University of Cincinnati () is a Doctoral Granting Research University with very high research activity (RU/VH). It is part of Ohio’s higher education system with approximately 53,000 students in attendance (12,000 graduate students).
The Exercise Science Program is located within the School of Human Services in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology. The School also includes undergraduate and graduate programs in Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Sport Administration, Health Promotion and Education, and School Psychology. The School is a leader in online course and program development, and there are many innovative and collaborative activities across programs and with community partners.
The Exercise Science program directly offers a B.S. in Exercise Science, a M.S. in Exercise and Sport Science, and a M.S. in Health and Wellness Management. The undergraduate program includes optional tracks in Clinical Exercise Physiology and Strength and Conditioning, and is nationally accredited in Exercise Science by the CoAES/CAAHEP. It is also an Education Recognition Program (ERP) through the NSCA. Future plans may include the development of additional programs, such as a Ph.D. in Exercise Science and additional minors/certificates.
The Exercise Science program is housed on the main campus of the University of Cincinnati, in the Teachers-Dyer Complex. The program oversees the Bearcat Performance Lab , which consists of two research and teaching lab spaces within the building focused on strength, human performance, and exercise physiology. Both lab spaces are equipped with current technology and equipment. Faculty within the program often collaborate with cross-campus and community partners in the fitness, sports performance, and wellness fields.
